Nigel Farage is a British politician, broadcaster, and former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), known for his key role in advocating for Brexit. Born in 1964, Farage started his career in commodities trading before entering politics in the early 1990s. He co-founded UKIP in 1993 and served multiple terms as its leader, using his populist and often controversial rhetoric to push for the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union. Farage was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1999 to 2020, where he gained a reputation for fiery speeches criticizing the EU. His leadership was instrumental in forcing the 2016 Brexit referendum, which resulted in a vote to leave the EU, significantly altering the course of British politics.
