Guernsey Bank Notes Go Portrait-Free: Island's Natural Beauty Takes Center Stage
- Wednesday, 02 April 2025

Guernsey's new bank notes, set to enter circulation in 2027, will feature images of the island's natural and built landscape, without a portrait of the King. The designs were selected from 26 submissions and will be created by artist Hayley Mallett and photographer Rachael de la Mare for the front of the notes, while urban architect Natasha K.HE designed the back. The notes' last redesign in the 1990s featured Queen Elizabeth II's portrait, but this new design focuses on Guernsey itself, aiming to evoke pride and joy among islanders.

Le Pen plans to appeal against the verdict and has criticized the court's decision as a "political" one.
