Labour has announced plans to ban private firms from running care homes to prevent another Southern Cross crisis. Shadow Health Secretary John Healy also criticized the government for attempting to privatize the NHS and accused Prime Minister David Cameron of breaking his promises to protect the NHS. Labour will prioritize companies with a "true social ethos" over those driven by commercial interests, and will develop integrated care organizations to promote collaboration between primary, secondary, and social care providers.
