The UK Prime Minister David Cameron has announced that an inquiry into phone hacking will have powers to call media proprietors, editors, and politicians to give evidence under oath. The inquiry, led by Lord Justice Leveson, will investigate wrongdoing in the press and police and review regulation in the press. The PM said those who sanctioned wrongdoing should have no further role in running a media company in the UK.
