Elon Musk’s Million-Dollar Town Hall

  • Tuesday, 01 April 2025

Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), held a town hall in Green Bay, Wisconsin, discussing his views on small government, the Federal Reserve, and DOGE’s work. He emphasized reducing government size, citing George Washington’s original Cabinet, and criticized the Federal Reserve’s large workforce, joking that a Magic 8 Ball might be more effective at setting interest rates. Musk also addressed the idea of distributing government savings to taxpayers but noted that decision rests with President Trump and Congress. Despite Tesla’s stock dropping since taking on his White House role, Musk dismissed financial concerns. He handed out two $1 million checks, claiming they were both a show of appreciation and a way to attract attention. The event took place ahead of a key Wisconsin Supreme Court election that could determine the court’s ideological balance, with Musk voicing opposition to “activist judges.”
