President Donald Trump has announced that the US will withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, which aims to limit global warming to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels. The move reverses the Biden administration's decision to rejoin the pact and makes the US the fourth country to opt out of the agreement. Trump also declared a "national energy emergency" and vowed to boost oil and gas production, while canceling efforts to promote clean energy and electric vehicles. The US will officially be out of the Paris agreement in 2025.
