Biden Judge Blocks Trump's Transgender Passport Rule

A Joe Biden-appointed federal judge, Julia Kobick, blocked the Trump administration's policy banning non-binary people from using an X on their passports to identify their gender. The policy was enacted through one of President Trump's executive orders, which narrowed the definition of sexes and prohibited gender transition. Judge Kobick ruled that the government failed to demonstrate a substantially related important governmental interest in its actions and approved the ACLU's motion for a preliminary injunction, staying the action while the lawsuit is litigated.
