Keir Starmer hopes to win over Donald Trump during his trip to Scotland to meet King Charles and play golf at Turnberry. The US President was invited for an unprecedented second state visit to Britain, with provisional details including a round of golf at Turnberry and hosting at Balmoral Castle. Although not directly linked to tariff talks, some officials hope the royal itinerary will facilitate constructive discussions between the UK and US on tariffs, which are set to come into force.
