A coach carrying 44 English Defence League (EDL) members broke down in east London, prompting an attack by around 100 Asian teenagers who pelted it with bricks and stones. Police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested all 44 EDL supporters, transferring them to a double-decker bus for evacuation from the area. The situation became tense again when a group of youths blocked the bus's path, leading police to charge them and clear the road. A total of 60 people were arrested in connection with the EDL protest, including 44 from the coach incident, with offenses ranging from public order offenses to assault on a police officer.
