Tommy Robinson's Prison Sentence Upheld as Appeal Fails Amid Claims of Mental Health Decline

Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, will remain in prison after losing his appeal to shorten his 18-month sentence. He was jailed for contempt of court due to ignoring an order not to repeat lies about a Syrian refugee who successfully sued him for libel. After being sentenced, Robinson was admitted to HMP Belmarsh but moved to HMP Woodhill due to threats from other prisoners, including reports that he would be assaulted or killed by a lifer. His appeal claimed that his mental health and segregation in prison are "making him ill" and having a "demonstrable effect" on him.
