MP Threatened Again: Man Admits Making Deadly Threats Against Bishop Auckland's Sam Rushworth

Benjamin Clarke, 31, admitted threatening to kill Bishop Auckland MP Sam Rushworth twice. In August, Clarke sent a message saying he wanted to harm Rushworth at his next public appearance. The following month, he told mental health practitioners that he planned to find and hurt Rushworth, then set fire to a building where he was and lock him in. Clarke initially applied to withdraw his guilty pleas but later decided not to proceed. He has been remanded in custody pending sentencing on May 12.
