Gabon is set to hold its presidential election, with Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the leader who led a bloodless coup 19 months ago, being the overwhelming favorite. He faces seven other candidates and appears likely to secure an outright majority in the first ballot. His campaign slogan "C'bon" means "it's good." Victory will bring a seven-year mandate and resources to implement development and modernizing reforms.
