The Best Policies Money Can Buy
Politicians love to act like they’re just regular folks—drinking pints, kissing babies, and pretending to understand the price of milk. But nothing says “man of the people” quite like accepting a six-figure donation from a billionaire who, of course, expects nothing in return… wink wink. Yet, somehow, laws start magically bending in their favour, tax breaks appear out of thin air, and suddenly, the guy who owns half the country is getting subsidies while you’re still waiting for your pothole to be fixed. But don’t worry—your £10 donation and heartfelt email will definitely make a difference.
Labour MP Steve Yemm Apologizes for Failing to Declare £10,000 Donation from Power Saving Solutions
- Friday, 11 April 2025
MP Steve Yemm apologized for not declaring a £10,000 donation from Power Saving Solutions when he praised the company in the House of Commons without mentioning the gift. His register of interests states that he received the donation on April 23, 2022, but he did not mention it during his speech on March 25. Yemm said he has contacted the parliamentary standards commissioner and will correct the record at the earliest opportunity, citing the MPs' code of conduct requiring declaration of any relevant interest when speaking in the Commons.
