Texas AG Launches Probe into Kellogg's Cereals Over Cancer-Linked Ingredients
- Tuesday, 08 April 2025
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into Kellogg's for allegedly violating state law by including petroleum-based food dyes in its cereals, linked to health issues such as hyperactivity, obesity, and cancer. Paxton claims the company is making misrepresentations about its products and contributing to a broken healthcare system. The investigation aligns with the Trump Administration's Make America Healthy Initiative, which aims to regulate foods and chemicals more strictly. Kellogg's had previously pledged to remove artificial flavors and colors by 2018, but products like Froot Loops and Apple Jacks still contain Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 1, and Yellow 6.
