IRS Boss to Quit Amid Trump's Order to Share Private Tax Data of Undocumented Migrants

The acting boss of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Melanie Krause, is expected to resign after the Trump administration ordered her department to hand over private tax data of up to seven million undocumented migrants to the Department of Homeland Security. The IRS had assured these individuals that they could file their taxes without fear of deportation. Krause has indicated she will participate in a deferred resignation program and step down from her post on April 28, reportedly due to disagreement with the administration's direction for the agency.
