In the end, nobody wins—except maybe smugglers and black market avocado dealers.

According to White House trade advisor Peter Navarro, Trump's looming tariffs will not tank the economy. Navarro pointed to the 1963 "chicken tax" imposed by President Lyndon Baines Johnson, which hit imports of European light trucks, including VW Vanagon, and led to a renaissance in US light truck development, boosting pickup truck production.
