Councillors in Belfast are calling for a clampdown on dog fouling after over 1,000 complaints last year but only 10 fines issued. Complaints have led to community events being cancelled and children being exposed to health hazards while walking or playing outside. Councillors are demanding more proactive enforcement of existing measures and some suggest increasing the fine from £80 to £200.
