Reading, Writing, and Red Tape

Politicians love to talk about education like they invented books whilst standing proudly at podiums, declaring that “our children are the future,” right before they cut the school budget to buy more flags. They pass laws demanding students score higher on standardized tests, even though half of them think "Pi" is just a dessert and "critical thinking" is a liberal conspiracy. They promise to "listen to teachers," then ignore every actual teacher in a 50-mile radius and consult their cousin Dave who once substitute-taught gym in '98. At this rate, kids will graduate knowing how to recite campaign slogans but still wondering who this "Pythagoras" guy was and why he loved triangles so much.

Starmer Meets Creators of Online Platform 'Free' for Schools to Boost Student Wellbeing

Keir Starmer met with the creators of a new online platform that aims to make adolescence "free" for schools. The platform, which remains unnamed, will provide a safe space for students to share their experiences and connect with peers who have gone through similar struggles. The meeting aimed to discuss how the platform can be integrated into the education system to support student well-being and mental health.
