Democracy: Now with More Leaflets!
Elections are that magical time when every candidate suddenly remembers your name, your dog’s name, and pretends to care deeply about the pothole outside your nan’s house. Leaflets multiply in your letterbox like rabbits on energy drinks, all featuring people who have never worn a hi-vis jacket suddenly posing in one like they’ve just filled in a thousand potholes personally. There’s always that one guy who runs as an independent with a manifesto that’s 80% about bringing back milk deliveries and banning cyclists. And no matter who wins, the bins still get collected late and the local duck pond remains mysteriously over budget.
