Murder Inquiry Launched After Convicted Killer Found Dead in High-Security Prison

A murder investigation has been launched after John Mansfield, a convicted killer serving a life sentence at HMP Whitemoor, was found dead. Mansfield had previously pleaded guilty to murdering his neighbor, Ann Alfanso, and was given a minimum 30-year sentence. He also received a second life term in 2014 for stabbing another prisoner with a broken plate. An inmate, aged 44, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
