Harry's Life 'At Stake' Without Security, Claim Lawyers in High Court Appeal

Prince Harry's barrister, Shaheed Fatima KC, claimed his client's life is at stake during final High Court arguments against the government's decision to scale back his taxpayer-funded security protection. She stated that Prince Harry has been "singled out" for "inferior treatment" and that his safety, security, and life are at risk. The barrister emphasized the human dimension of the case, highlighting the Duke of Sussex's presence during the hearing as evidence of how much this appeal means to him and his family.

Government Launches Quango Audit to Cut Spending and Boost Ministerial Control

The UK Cabinet Office Minister Pat McFadden has asked government departments to justify the existence of hundreds of public bodies, known as quangos, that are not directly controlled by ministers. The review aims to cut spending and give ministers more decision-making powers, with some quangos potentially being closed or merged. The government will consider four key principles in the review, including ministerial oversight of key policy areas and government efficiency.

From Foreign Office to Frequent Flyer: Lammy's Costly Air Habit

  • Friday, 28 March 2025

Foreign Secretary David Lammy is under fire after it was revealed he spent a staggering £1.23 million on private jet travel over just three months, from October to December 2024. The bulk of the cost—over £1 million—went toward flights on an Airbus A321, the largest aircraft in the ministerial fleet. This extravagant travel spree marks a 34% increase from the previous quarter, bringing his average daily flight spending to £14,650. Lammy had already been criticized for spending nearly £1 million on flights shortly after the election, and these new figures have only intensified scrutiny over his use of taxpayer money for luxury air travel.
